On the 12th September 2012, CCEDU deployed an bserver mission in Usuk county. The Usuk MP seat had been declared vacant following the death of independent Member of Parliament Hon. Micheal Oromait in July 2012. In Usuk, 10 candidates contested for the vacant parliamentary seat.

Proscovia Alengot Oromait of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) won the election with 11,056 votes against her closest beating her closest rival independent candidate Charles Oleny who garnered 5,329 votes. Okure Charles of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) came 3rd with 2,725 votes while Anyaakoit Cecilia of Uganda People's Congress finished 4th with 554 votes.
